Lynn S. Anderson
Her primary research interests include strengths-based approaches in therapeutic recreation and inclusion in recreation and therapeutic recreation services.
Her work has been published in a variety of books and journals including the Therapeutic Recreation Journal, Journal of Leisure Research, Journal of Park and Recreation Management, Disability and Health Journal, and Annual in Therapeutic Recreation.
Lynn has held leadership positions in state and national organizations, serving on a wide array of committees, as well as leadership positions on the SUNY Cortland campus, from department chairperson to faculty co-chair of the college’s regional accreditation with Middle States.
She has been honored as Distinguished Fellow of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association, Fellow of New York Therapeutic Recreation Association and the North Dakota Recreation and Park Association, McDermott Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award at the University of North Dakota, and the President’s Award for Funded Research at SUNY Cortland, among other awards at SUNY Cortland.
In her leisure time, Lynn can be found hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, paddling, and just about any outdoor activity, as well as spending time with husband Dale, children, and grandchildren.
